- AlltheWeb: Find videos all over the Web with AlltheWeb.
- The Open Video Project: From the site: "The purpose of the Open Video Project is to collect and make available a repository of digitized video content for the digital video, multimedia retrieval, digital library, and other research communities."
- AltaVista Video: Good video search tool, and you search for a variety of video formats, including .avi, MPEG, Quicktime, and more.
- SingingFish: An audio and video specific search engine. Make sure you check out the "I'm Bored" section.
- Yahoo Video Search: Yahoo's video search is pretty extensive, but you will like how they return screen shots of whatever videos end up in your search results.
- Google Video Search: Google's immense database, now open for video searching as well. You can narrow your search further by clicking on "playable video" or "all video". Includes screeshots of search results as well as a brief properties blurb.
- Blinkx Video Search: Only for high speed Internet access users; there's an extremely cool video clip montage on the front page that might take a while otherwise. You'll be able to find pretty much any video you want here.
- WebSEEK:From Columbia University. Browse videos by subject or topic; You can click on "Astronomy" and it will bring to a NASA movies results page. How cool is that!
- PBS Online NewsHour: This site will allow you to search anything from NewsHour after February 7, 2000.
- Ourmedia.org: The "global home for grassroots media." Ourmedia allows you to upload and store your own video creations, as well as search through their rapidly growing database.
- Open Media Network: You will love this search tool. From the site: "OMN is a free public service designed to help you enjoy a broad selection of movies, public TV and radio, video blogs and podcasts while protecting producer's copyrights." Requires a free download that will help you organize the various programs and videos that you choose to download.
- C-SPAN: Who doesn't love C-SPAN, a public service that allows anyone who wants to free viewing access of the United States government. You can search through C-SPAN's archive of video content here.
- PeekVid: Watch your favorite TV shows, music videos, and more here. Over 13,000 videos at the time of this writing.
